A: The Silhouette Alta® 3D Printer has a layer height range from 0.05mm (most detailed) to 0.5mm (fastest output).
Q: What is the minimum layer height of the Silhouette Alta®?
A: The Silhouette Alta® 3D Printer has a minimum layer height setting of 0.05mm tall. This setting generates the best detail for your designs although with detail comes a compromise with time as designs printed using this level of detail will take longer.
Q: What colours can the Silhouette Alta® print?
A: The Silhouette Alta® 3D Printer can only print in one colour at a time so your choice if filament colour dictates what colour your design will turn out. Silhouette offer a range of great colours (Black | White | Red | Yellow | Green | Blue | Pink) for you to work with, although the Alta® will accept any 1.75mm PLA filament. For bespoke models, we recommend using while filament as then you can paint your design to fully customise it post print.
Q: Is the Silhouette Alta® branded Filament BPA free?
A: The Silhouette Alta® branded filament is constructed from PLA, PLA does not contain BPA which allows it to be used as a food safe product.
Q: Is the Silhouette Alta® branded Filament eco-friendly / recyclable?
A: The Silhouette Alta® branded filament is constructed from PLA, PLA is a bioplastic that is potentially recyclable but no separate recycling system currently exists to process it. However, PLA is bio-degradable material as it is made up of corn starch.
